About Growing MJ
Growing MJ started as a simple question: why is it so hard to find straightforward, non-hype indoor gardening advice? Most sites either oversell expensive gear you don't need yet, or assume you already know what a PPFD value is. We wanted something in between — clear, practical guidance for people growing herbs, vegetables, and houseplants indoors, whether that's a single pot on a windowsill or a full tent-and-light setup in a spare room.
What we cover
Everything here is about legal, mainstream indoor gardening:
- Grow tents, grow rooms, and the equipment that goes in them
- LED and other grow lighting options
- Hydroponic and soil-based growing methods
- Indoor herb gardens and kitchen-counter setups
- Houseplant care fundamentals
- Beginner troubleshooting for common growing mistakes
We do not cover cannabis cultivation, strain reviews, or anything tied to a specific regulated substance. The techniques and equipment we write about apply broadly to herbs, leafy greens, vegetable starts, and ornamental houseplants.
How the site makes money
Growing MJ is a small, independent publisher. We plan to fund the site through the Amazon Associates program and similar affiliate partnerships: when you click certain product links and buy something, we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. This never affects what we write — we recommend categories of equipment based on what actually works, not which link pays best. Full details are on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
A note on accuracy
We do our best to keep guides accurate and up to date, but growing conditions vary a lot by climate, water quality, and equipment, so treat everything here as a solid starting point rather than gospel. If you're working with electrical equipment (lights, pumps, timers) near water, always follow the manufacturer's safety instructions.
Questions or feedback?
Growing MJ is a new site and still growing (pun intended). If you spot something inaccurate or have a topic you'd like covered, we'd love to hear about it — contact details will be added here as the site matures.
